Two days ago we were eagerly watching towards the USA on our west side, and today is the election day in China.
The mysterious far Eastern food is one of my favorite themes.
I am so busy these days, as always in nov/dec, because of working for a fashion agency, I can't start any new asian inspired painting; I am planning to work on this amazing letter in the future:
I would love to print very large images, I mean 16X20 posters. Shipment is still an issue.
But I found a way to pack 12X16 prints (or A3 size), and slowly add some larger illustrations in my shop.
I am never enlarging any design, they could be blurred; but fortunately, some originals were already created in a very large size.
The Spicy chinese soup illustration is now available in this format.
I received this chinese envelope in 1994, it was a long time before internet.
I asked a dance supplies shop in China ( Sansha ) to send me their brochure, and it was incredible for me to have a mail coming from so far away ! And I have been keeping it as if it was a priceless treasure.
I sold the original painting two years ago, and I remember it was shipped to New York on the 5th avenue, such a mythical place :)
Street food in Beijing / Large size pancakes (as well :) / Jianbing

You are a treasure, Lucile--I love how you think and how you incorporate your sense of curiosity and wonder in your paintings. I enjoyed learning about the international history of your chinese soup painting and I would bet that its adventure is not over.
ReplyDeleteSome day I will get brave enough to paint on an envelope. :)
